We are about to implement a policy of no bins under desks in new buildings. Staff must instead walk to the common bins located in kitchens and recessed into corridors etc. We need to specify their placement however in the Design Guidelines. For example a waste and recycling bin will be located .....to serve 10 offices, and not be more than 10 metres away from an individual. If you have gone down this path, specs and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam

Samantha,
Take a look at the Department of Environment and Conservation (NSW), Sustainability Programs Division (formally Resource NSW) website. http://www.resource.nsw.gov.au/officebuildings/officebuildings.htm They have undertaken a Waste Reduction in Office Buildings program and have a few case studies available.
