Green Skills is working with a local health club network on ways to save energy. Following an energy audit, energy efficiency measures are being implemented in the club premises. We also want to target client behaviour and encourage short showers and responsible water use by putting clever signs in appropriate spots. I can't locate any stickers or signs on the subject of water saving that are vaguely witty. Does anyone have any information about availability of such materials? It would be better if I could order rather than have to produce them from scratch. Failing that, fantastically effective slogans would be appreciated.
Cheers

(Good natured humour for your day). I'm going way back to my teen years - I'll never forget a t-shirt I had at the time, with wording as follows: "Save Water - Shower with a Friend". Now, I'm not really sure that would work ....
Regards,
Patricia
Another approach you could investigate is to replace the standard taps with timer-taps similar to the push button light timer in apartment foyers. Many youth hostels use these to great effect. When you push the tap it only runs the shower for a preset time (usually 1 minute to 2 minutes) and then cuts off the shower. You need to push the tap again to keep the shower on. You become really conscious about how long you are in the shower when you have to keep pushing the button and it has the added advantage that showers are not accidentally left on. People get used to them fairly quickly and if there are clear signs about their use and the reason for using them there are very few problems (at least in the Hostels).
