Are your local colleges and universities addressing campus sustainability issues? If so, are their achievements well know in the community or state? Are they making real progress embracing systemic change? We are producing a new informative video on the state of sustainability in higher education. I would be curious to get this group's feedback on this.

you might want to take a look at the GHG reports at www.ghgregistries.ca to see what hundreds of organizations have been doing over the last 4 years. This site is a forum for posting to public access to the reports.

You might also check out the Alliance to Save Energy's Green Campus Program, http://ase.org/section/program/greencampus/. This student leadership program provides paid interns to work on saving energy on campus, particularly in dorms and student-run buildings such as student unions. Interns work with facility staff, administrators and faculty for guidance and are trained and supported by the Alliance. Interns also facilitate credit courses on sustainability, work on procurement issues on campus and educate the general population about efficiency opportunities and progress. Some examples of creative student activities include a student-made film called "Green Eye for the Conventional Gal," playing off the popular TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy", energy-saving dorm competitions, and campaigns to get students to use power strips to reduce standby losses from appliances and chargers.
