Hi
Does anyone have any research data at all on the above topic, particularly barriers and benefits studies to the plethora of invasive plant and animal species out there? Our invasive animal species include, wild dogs, feral pigs, rabbits, deer, goats, foxes, mice, locusts, feral cats, and fish species such as tilapia. I'm just beginning my research into this area - casting the net wide!
Kind regards

Response to Rosalie's question on 1/15: I'm from Santa Barbara, California. Since 1990, extensive efforts have been made to remove the feral pig from Santa Catalina island, the third largest of eight California channel islands. A comprehensive report is included in the book by Veitch and Clout,
*Turning the Tide: The Eradication of Invasive Species: Proceedings*, pp 274 - 286.
You can preview the information at Google Books: http://books.google.com/books?id=CI8531CO-dsC&pg=PA285&dq=eradication+of+feral+pigs+on+santa+rosa+island&lr=&sig=WyGDdlXgxByyz7NBgmHd84ZyXgc#PPA274,M1
Hope this helps!
