Hello
I am in need of case study information of business that have gone green and have shown an increase in revenues and savings. Preferably information in the education, hotel, medical and food sectors. I am leading the intitiative at my school to become certified green. My bosses want bottom-line figures. They want to know how can we profit by becoming certified? Can you please send me or direct me to any pertinent information I can present? Including maybe some graphs and charts?

The opinions (and studies) about the effects of CSR are various. Some claim there are benefits, some say there are non. David Vogel in his book The Market For Virtue concludes that all the studies don't proof that there is a business case for virtue but neither that there isn't a business case for it. One study showed that the Wall Mart share would be much higher if they would be as sustainable as their competitor (unfortunately I can't find the source of this study, and it was taken about 2 years ago). Hi Ramy,
A few years ago Victorian organisations licensed by the Victorian EPA had to achieve certain energy and greenhouse emission targets. Sustainability Victoria produced an "Energy and Greenhouse Management Toolkit to assist industry and government departments in achieving energy and greenhouse savings.. You can download the Toolkit from our web site at the following address: http://www.sustainability.vic.gov.au/www/html/1938-energy-and-greenhouse-management-toolkit.asp?intSiteID=4 The Toolkit consists of 7 modules. The first 4 modules outline what the affected organisations had to achieve and how to go about reaching the target.. Module 5 contains an Appendix with numerous Case Studies about businesses that have taken action to become more sustainable and the results they have achieved. Module 6 contains information about financial analysis and Module 7 provides information about other organisations that may be able to assist the participants. You may find some useful information and case studies in Module 5. Good luck with your program.
