In Vancouver WA the waste water treatment plant shares grounds with a Water Resource Center, educational facility, that includes lab classrooms, a library, art gallery space and public room with a kitchen. It was built with the same bond and is on the same public parcel. Odd combination, but it works great for them.

I also read that in Tokyo a waste-to-energy facility heats the water for a big public aquatic center.

Does anyone know of other unusual land-use/public facility combos? Please share.
