Hi there,
Would anybody be able ot point me to any literature or information on residential organics collection programs that use depots, as opposed to curbside collection. I would especially appreciate evaluations of pilot tests and/or on-going programs, and to also hear anecdotes about the pros and cons of such an approach to collecting organics.
Many thanks,

Hello Jean-Louis,
Are you interested in all household organics (including kitchen waste) or just garden waste? Darwin City Council, Northern Territory, Australia have offered residents a free garden waste drop off at the Shoal Bay Waste Disposal Site for some time. http://www.darwin.nt.gov.au/residents/rubbish_recycling/documents/managing_rubbish_008.pdf however I believe other Australian cities and towns offer similar services.

Hi Amanda,
I'm interested primarily in household organics, like kitchen waste. Yard waste drop offs are fairly common, but I've only come across a couple of household kitchen organics drop-offs.
Thanks for the clarification!
