Yesterday we introduced a revised digest. The principal change is the inclusion of a true table of contents at the top of the digest. We included the table of contents to make it easier to see at a glance whether there are posts in the digest that are of interest to readers. We have also made some stylistic changes to the presentation of the digest to enhance clarity. Please provide us with any feedback that you have on the new digest.

Feedback on New Digest

I tried clicking on icons and titles in an old digest, and everything worked properly. I tried clicking on icons and titles in today's digest and the links did not work. I do like the look of the new format, and think that -- once you work the bug(s) out -- this will be a more user friendly format.
Thank you,

Erin: Thanks for the feedback. We are looking into why the links are not working properly and hope to have a solution shortly. Thanks in advance for your patience as we resolve this problem.

The links in the new format don't work for me, either. Instead it opens a window titled LOCATE LINK BROWSER and prompts me to navigate through my files to find an executable file. This happens consistently whether I click on the icon and or click on the discussion thread titles. On the mouseover , the pop-up message is
blocked::#announcements (appears over the icon)
blocked::#announcements_1 (appears over the title)
blocked::#announcements_2 (appears over the title)
I tested several copies of the old digest and they worked fine. Clicking on the icon jumped to the desired section of the digest. Clicking on the title opened the browser at the desired thread on the website.

It doesn't work for me either to click on the icons or the titles. I tried clicking on both the icons and the titles and nothing happened.

Doug,
The heading/article links do not work for me either. Also, it would be nice to be able to read the complete title at the top. Most of the titles are too long get cut off for me, so I need to read through all the posts to see the subjects.

Lauren:
In the email clients that we tested the new digest in, clicking on the subject heading for the thread takes you to that thread in the digest. Clicking on the icon will take you to the beginning of the category (e.g., all of the energy threads for that day). We didn't make the category heading itself part of the navigation.

It looks to me like I should be able to click on the topic in which I'm interested in the table of contents and it will take me right to that posting, but that's not happening for me. So I end up going through the whole digest again anyway. Am I doing something wrong?

Revision is great. It seems that the speed of navigation through the site has also increased. Should be much faster to find items of interest.

Justin, the response has changed. Clicking on the two active icons (ENERGY and ANNOUNCEMENTS) now moves the reader to the correct section of the digest; however, clicking on the titles does nothing. Clicking on any NO THREADS TODAY START A NEW THREAD opens a new browser instance at http://www.cbsm.com/forums/index.lasso.
I am a running a XP box 2002 with SP2 and Outlook 2003 with SP3. The av is Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11.
