As you probably know, EROI is "simply" the ratio of energy delivered to users over the energy spent in extracting/converting/delivering the energy. Is anyone here using this metric to compare renewable versus non-renewable energy? Do you know any good sources of data on "Energy Return on Energy Invested" (EROEI or EROI)? Good data for the denominator (by industry, sector, etc) seems to be scarce!

Hi Luis,,
The Oil Drum is usually seen as the go-to place for this. This links takes you to the second part of a six part series by Professor Charles Hall (energy guru); this part has a chart that may answer your questions.

Make sure you read the appendix for the fascinating implications of the EROEI of imported oil.
