Personal interviews were conducted during early construction and 5 yrs later during peak construction with 217 residents of a rural host community for a nuclear power plant. Ss indicated that their neighborhoods were more unstable and crowded and less safe and quiet. Implications for community psychology and preventive intervention are discussed.
