Anxiety, Locus of Control and Appraisal of Air Pollution

Navarro, P. L., Simpson, H. P., & de-Man, A. F. (1987). Anxiety, locus of control and appraisal of air pollution. Perceptual and Motor Skills, 64, 3, Pt 1, 811-814.

Studied the relationship among locus of control (LOC (Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control Scale)), trait anxiety (TA (Speilberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory)), and perception of air pollution in 100 17-65 yr old residents of Santiago de Chile. Concern over the problem of atmospheric pollution and number of antipollution measures taken were related to TA. LOC was associated with variation in awareness of pollution hazard.
