Education and Ecology: Psychological Reflections

Discusses how depth psychologists can contribute to the debate over the future of earth's environment. Emphasis is placed on (1) accenting humanity's careful tending of the environment in the past, (2) connecting environmentalism with social justice and economic redistribution, (3) eliminating cheap sentimentality and gender stereotyping from the debate, (4) owning up to the authoritarianism in much environmentalist discourse, and (5) allowing a place for nationalism in a general greening of earth politics.
