Compared a weatherization and retrofit manual developed using task analysis, field testing, and revision with instructions contained in an existing weatherization product by having 26 9-26 yr old Boy Scouts and 14 12-27 yr old Girl Scouts install weatherization in selected low-income households using 1 of the 2 sets of instructions. Materials were installed properly (as measured by a 6-point scale) only with the task analysis manual.
