I thought folks would be interested to know that King County WA is piloting a program to have drug stores take back unused pharmaceuticals. They are deposited in locked boxes, and incinerated (under the supervision of the DEA, I believe). I do know that they had to do a lot of work to figure out how to make this legal according to federal law. If anyone is interested in learning more, let me know and I can tell you who to get in contact with here in WA.
