Seeking Recycling Best Practices for Corporate and Retail

Greetings valued list members,

I'm involved in a class project to propose a recycling and waste management operations plan to a major US kitchen, house wares, and furniture retailer. While I look forward to my own research findings, I'm sure there are valuable resources and experiences that you may have to share. My specific investigations lie in the areas of Research [local US recycling laws, stand-alone stores vs. mall recycling], Best Practices [waste and recycling best practices; strengths and weaknesses; industry standards; cost drivers], What are other retailers doing right, and what are their challenges? Any experience, resources, best practices, or case studies that you could share would be much appreciated. (And I would be happy to share my findings with you when the project wraps up.)
