The City of Edmonton has just launched its new elementary school public education program. Entitled, Treat it Right! Stormwater (Grade 5) and Treat it Right! Waste water (Grade 4), these two teachers' guides focus on changing behaviors around what we put into our stormwater and wastewater systems. These programs link to the Alberta Education programs of studies for Grade 4 and Grade 5 science and are integrated to include language arts, social studies, mathematics, and chemistry as appropriate to the grade level and content. Each program includes four lesson plans complete with a variety of activities, readings, games, and a take home activity. A colourful poster is included with each program. www.edmonton.ca/drainage/education
