Experienced Social Marketing consultant & trainer Janet MacDonald will be holding a series of one-day social marketing workshops in Edinburgh on July 10 and 11. Through her company Atlas Communications, Janet was the pioneer of social marketing training in New Zealand - her company was the first and only New Zealand-based agency to offer specialist social marketing training. Now having returned to her Scottish roots, she is one of the UK's most experienced social marketers and will be presenting at the World Social Marketing conference in Brighton in September 2008. Attendees at previous workshops have come from a range of backgrounds, encompassing corporate sustainability, public/population health, health promotion, environmental protection and NGO/non-profit sector. Implementing social marketing into policy development By the end of this workshop attendees will have a thorough understanding of the background, development and theory behind social marketing; the planning tools and models which you can apply to social marketing programmes; and an overview of a selection of successful social marketing case studies. The workshop combines academic and theoretical knowledge with practical skills in the application of social marketing. Numbers are limited to 16 participants July 11 is an intensive, hands-on workshop where a small number of attendees (maximum 6) will work closely with Janet on developing their own social marketing project plan using the knowledege and models from Day 1.
