I wonder if Buy Nothing Day has fizzled.  Even when all the economic signals for buying less are here, all you hear is Black Friday and now Cyber Monday.  This would have been a good year to really push for this.  (Years ago a Vancouver, BC group invented Buy Nothing day as a protest for Black Friday but kept getting nowhere when major channels refused to allow their ads on the air.)  Is there any organization that is really trying to pull out all the stops, get the environmental celebrities to make commercials (e.g. Gore, Redford, Robt Kennedy) on changing behavior to save the planet?  Is this group something that can start this for next year?
