Subject: [DIVISION] uciathome Request for Participation

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are writing to ask for your help with participation in a survey about home energy use. The study, which is being conducted by a research team at the University of California, is interested in your observations and experiences of your home energy use as well as any feedback devices you may have used. The study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at University of California, Irvine.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would fill out a short internet survey, which should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Your participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. Your answers are important to the success of this study and we hope that you will find the time to complete it. All survey participants are eligible to be placed in a raffle for a $50 Amazon.com gift card! A winner will be contacted via e-mail after survey data has been collected.

If you are willing to take this survey, please click here or go to www.uciathome.org. In addition to completing the survey, we would be very appreciative if you would forward this email to anyone you know who may be willing and eligible to participate (over 18 years old). We would like to get input from as many people as possible. Please contact us (see contact below) if you have any questions about the survey or any aspect of this research.

This survey is an important step towards understanding how people think about and use energy in their homes and part of a larger study whose goal is to design and test interventions aimed at energy conservation. Let us again stress that your perspective is very important to us. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
