Using Social Media to Stimulate Conservation Behavior?

I am currently working on interpretive projects for a zoo, botanic garden, nature center, and park trail system; all of the projects have team members trying to utilize social media to enhance our conservation messaging, even to the point of encouraging people onsite to make project donations, etc.

Related social media involvement ideas include, for example, instagram games/voting/contests, and/or twitter feeds prompted to show and stimulate community participation). The activities are mainly geared to attract young adult audiences (say 13-35 years old).

Would you know of any cutting-edge sites or resources where effective and novel social media ideas related to conservation are showcased?
