Investigated the effects of response-specific prompts, prompts identifying long- and short-term consequences, and response-specific prompts on the reduction of environmentally destructive lawn-walking. The response-specific prompt alone was effective, and its effectiveness was enhanced by the identification of short- and long-term consequences; however, the mere identification of short- and long-term consequences alone was not effective.
