I am a prev medicine doctor who put together a program that helps the doctors of BC help their pts to stop smoking. Based in BC Med Assn & uses physician database.Totally separately, I am concerned re global warming, which I call the Big Smoking problem (tobacco the Little Smoking Problem) and am running for Vancouver City Council for COPE which is allied with Green and some independents. My platform is 1) increasing neighborhood involvement (as per Portland, Edmonton, Alberta & others)2) increasing transit performance to lure people out of cars [I personnaly have proposed a "Pollution Transfer Fee" of $200/year for which each car driver would get $200 worth of bus tickets. Would appreciate your comments. Also I think that employers should enter those who walk, bike, or carpool into a weekly lottery and cash prizes be awarded. Again, your comments would be appreciated.3) Stop logging in the drinking watershed of Vancouver.
