I am a university professor who has done considerable work on environmental quality, especially in the delta area of Nigeria. I have been involved in consultancy work for government as well as oilcompanies. Recently, I served as a consultant to NGO known as the Niger Delta Environmental Survey [NDES], set up specifically to inventory the baseline environmental conditions of the oil-producing states in Nigeria, with a view to dertermining the specific needs of host communities so as to guided in designing the specific needs of such communities.
