Through the application of environmental psychology, I am involved with fostering sustainable communinities in the South Wales valleys. This invloves investigating aspects of motivation in relation to social exclusion and participatory behaviour. Motivating people to participate in community life in a sustainable way is therefore an important consideration in promoting sustainable communities.
