I actually attended a workshop in Seattle as part of the City of Renton Solid Waste - My (now) former position involved public education projects revolving around topics including recycling, waste reduction, household hazardous waste, green/safe alternatives, water quality, green gardening, etc. My new position as the Public Information & Education Specialist with Springfield will involve all of these topics, plus issues of water systems (sewer, treatment, stormwater), water pollution, pollution prevention, construction impact/projects on environment, watershed health, how utilities systems work/interact, intergovernmental agreements/commissions for environmental quality, etc.
