I am convenor of a local branch of The Greens and am on the State Executive. I am closely involved with my local council, which is on the urban/rural interface, and have recently established a policy group to support our Greens councillor in the Melbourne City Council. I am a Landcare volunteer and live on a one acre block where I recycle my greywater onto an orchard, have vegies, chooks, 2 sheep, bees and native garden. I try to live a simple and ethical life. I am particularly obsessed at the moment with water abuse in urban and rural settings and am pursuing this via the council and a group called Centre for Water Policy Research at the Univ. of New England. I wanted to establish a network where local govts (or any level) could record their innovative policies or ideas, so that we wouldn't have to keep re-inventing the wheel. Your website may well be such a place.
