I am the program coordinator for a volunteer group of environmental educators. Currently we are working closely with shoreline property owners in Island County, WA, to affect behavior change to promote the ongoing health of Puget Sound shorelines. We engage in many educational outreach efforts, as well as an annual beach monitoring program which has been nationally recognized. I am always looking for new ways to market our programs and services to the residents of our county, many of who are older and quite set in their habits.Our efforts are mostly aimed at educating about water quality and conservation issues, although we also educate about recycling, hazardous wastes, pesticide and fertilizer usage and more.
