Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST) specializes in sustainable transportation and livable communities. We effectively communicate the environmental and health benefits of sustainable transportation by providing people with practical information and the tools they need to make sustainable transportation a regular part of their lives. Our programs have successfully encouraged individuals, communities, corporations, and policy and decision-makers to adopt and incorporate sustainable transportation practices. Since our origin as a bicycle advocacy group in 1991, BEST has become the largest community-based, non-governmental organization devoted to sustainable transportation and land-use issues in Canada. Today the greater community, governments, and the media respect our values and opinions, and recognize and gratefully acknowledge our accomplishments and our ongoing work as integral to the community.
