I work with the Department of Environment in Wayne County Michigan. We are the regulatory agency for Wayne County Michigan and have programs which include: Design, license and regulate Municipal Solid waste landfills, recycling centers, transfer stations,and compostinng facilities. Soil ersion and sedimentation control permiting and inspectiions for constuction sites and headwater protection. Well and septic permitting inspections and testing. Operate 2 Waste Water treatmnet facilities and maintain waste water collection systems for 13 communities. Run an indusrtial Pretraement program under the NPDES System. Construct inspect and mainatin 420 miles of open and enclosed stormwater drains and collection systems. Watershed management program which administers the rouge river national wet weather demonstration project, manages the County storm water ordinance, runs an illicit connection program thoughout Wayne County, provides pollution prevention, best management practice, and nonpoint source pollution programs, training and educational outeach to municipalities, communities and business organizations.
