I was recently elected to serve as a local director of the Lower Platte South Natural Resource District. I am currently interested in exploring "RAIN GARDENS" as a way to harvest stormwater in one's own back yard or side yard. This would reduce stormwater runoff which is leading to downstream flooding and soil erosion. Keeping stormwater in yards should help improve the quantity and quality of groundwater within the watershed.
