Hi Doug. We met last April at the workshop in the Twin Cities. As you may recall, I'm the Aquatic Invasive Species Information Center Coordinator for the Minnesota Sea Grant Program in Duluth, MN. I've finally gotten a chance to dive back into the my notes from your workshop and re-read some sections of your book. I'm looking forward to using the resources that this Web site can provide.Briefly, my area of interest concerns broadening and enhancing social consciousness concerning aquatic invasive species (AIS) issues through application of learning theories, reflective practice, principles of social marketing, and assessment which take into account cros-cultural perspectives, values, attitudes, and behaviors - all in an effort to prevent, contain, and mitigate the impacts of AIS on industry, environment, recreation and society. I am responsible for planning, developing and conducting non-formal (mostly) adult Extension education in Minnesota, the Great Lakes region, and nationally. My area of expertise is in effective public AIS outreach and assessment. In this area, I have led or helped lead several survey studies to assess the effectiveness of boater and angler AIS programming. Fortunately, we have some successes in this area, which I mentioned during our meeting in April.Currently, I'm in graduate school pursuing a Master's of Education. I'm certain that what I learn here will have some application to both my thesis and to my future work.
