The Conservation District is a special district of the State of Nevada and a local conservation agency. In addition to other environmental programs, we assist our constituents with meeting Lake Tahoe Basin regulations concerning implementing erosion control and storm water runoff infiltration practices on private, single-family properties.Many residents are resentful of requirements that ask them to make a substantial monetary investment in their properties - however deadlines for implementations exist. As a non-regulatory agency, we promote conservation measures for their own sake, in addition to helping homeowners meet Basin ordinances. Tough sell even at Lake Tahoe!
