I am a middle school science teacher working to foster a deep sense of environmental awareness in my students using a methodology which results in behavioral change. I have not yet found the trigger to achieve the behavioral change, and as a masters student in Hamline's CGEE program and focusing my research on a trial to test my theory that it has more to do with emotional relationships established than with knowledge. The environmental theme I am using to test the theory is water consumption, and the relationships are being established via the web with students from areas who are more conservative and have a stronger awareness of the water crisis (New Zealand and New Mexico).
