The RSBC's mission is facilitate the dialogue through which individuals create the conditions necessary for them to make sustainable lifestyle choices. Our vision is people making sustainable lifestyle choices in the Fraser River Basin.The RSBC focuses on sustainable living within riversheds. Using ecological carrying capacity as a guiding principle, we work with stewardship groups, schools, First Nations and government delivering quality public education & leadership programs, fostering critical thinking, building stewardship capacity, and encouraging innovative individual and community solutions.The RSBC, a non-profit charitable organization, was formed in the wake of an unusual feat of endurance: Fin Donnellyââ s 1,400 km â´Swim for Lifeââ down B.C.ââ s mightiest river, the Fraser in 1995.In 2001, we launched our Healthy Riversheds Strategy, a ten-year plan aimed at protecting and conserving the riversheds of the Fraser River Basin, the greatest salmon system on Earth and one of Canadaââ s most significant waterways. Riversheds are defined by the water they gather and the land they drain.
