Re: Job Title / Team Title Ideas Please!

One concept I try to get across as the Sustainable Development Coordinator [not a particularly interseting title]for a small urban municipality is that we have to stop thinking of garbage as "waste" to be eliminated, these things are *resources*. So, I call them that -- wasted resources. Now, if I understand correctly, your job is to get people to see them that way and 3R+C them. So, how about calling yourself the "Wasted Resource Coach" I think this will cause people to look twice at your business card, and ask you what this is all about.

Re: Composting in the Rainforest

When I lived in San Diego (warm, sunny, dry climate), I learned about the Dutch composting method. Holland is cool and damp yet the same method worked in San Diego as there. I have no direct experience with your climate, but it might work in Belize.
I simply dug a hole in the ground in my backyard, put in kitchen organics (non meat) and covered with a black garbage bag (to retain the sun's heat). Within a week, the critters in the soil had converted it to soil.
Why not try this with a small amount of waste and see how it works?
Someone with direct experience, of course, would know a lot more than me!
