Re: Looking for a Cigarette Butt Costume (or simlar!) to use for a Litter Campaign

Thanks Helen!
That's quite the twist. But good idea as a marine debris/trash costume in general might be an option as well.
Still looking for that butt costume though if possible!!

Cigarette Butt Costume (or similar!)
2009-03-18 01:07:15 UTC
Hello
I am currently working on developing our annual marine and coastal holiday programs here in Broome, WA. The focus this year (and for the in-school programs also) is marine debris. I would like to incorporate a bit of a 'butts out' campaign to combat cigarette butt littering on our local, and beautiful, Cable Beach. Can anyone help me locate a cigarette butt costume that I could borrow (I know there is one out there!!) to use during the program to attract attention? I would also like to source a supply of personal ashtrays to distribute (for free or minimal cost if possible).
Many thanks,
Fiona Galloway

Communication Strategies for Marine Protected Areas
2006-07-26 18:27:03 UTC
Hello,
Would anyone have any examples of communication plans/strategies for marine protected areas? (or any other situations that might be of help). The MPA I am focussing on poses unique challenges as it lies some 300km offshore - so signage and similar are not feasible. A small group of commercial marine tour operators travel there and very few itinerant yachts. I am looking for some interesting ways of putting a comm strat together that will identify key audiences, key messages any other points bought to light..... and produce a selection of creative and effective 'tools' This needs to address both internal and external communications. I have not found many examples that grab me with format etc, so would love some inspiring and creative advice!
Cheers,
Fiona
