Sustainable Behaviour Programmes which have Complemented new Public Transport
2016-05-11 16:33:25 UTC
In Melbourne (Australia), the Government is removing rail level crossings, with many train stations being rebuilt. There is also a train extension, with three new stations in outer Melbourne. Would be most appreciative if people could suggest some examples of where behaviour programmes have been implemented at the same time as new stations/lines opening - capturing that "change moment", especially to get people to access stations by sustainable transport. Unfortunately people in outer Melbourne often have little choice other than to drive, so walking/cycling to the new stations may not be an automatic thought. Thank you in advance!

Cyclist - Driver Relationships (Conflicts)

I am commencing a study on cyclist-driver relationships (particularly conflicts): the tension between these road users and how this may result in unsafe behaviour. I would be most appreciative for references, previous studies or any advice or ideas people have.

In the debate, unfortunately people seem to lose sight of the better answer...toilet training earlier/putting babies over potties. Yes, it's more effort but (trying not to be smug) no poo in the cloth nappies for my bub before she was even 1! I don't understand why people don't use potties earlier; we don't think "kids don't talk in sentences til they're 2 so we will only talk in baby words to them til then"...the typical thinking and resultant behavioural outcomes for potty training just mean more nappies for longer. Unfortunately so many sustainability debates lose sight of the broader issues and more desirable outcomes!
