Hi Teresa,
The City of Red Deer has a composting at home program based on the Langley program. We are in our fifth year, and it is a very popular program. You can see a report on the results of the pilot at http://www.reddeer.ca/city-services/environment-and-conservation/your-yard/composting/composting-at-home-program/. I am happy to share any of our resources with anyone who is interested: [email protected] or 403-314-5894.

Re: Research related to Waste Reduction, Recycling, Composting CBSM campaigns
2014-09-03 10:11:08 UTC
The City of Red Deer in Alberta, Canada (population ~100,000) has run a CBSM program for three years encouraging residents to back yard compost. The program is incredibly popular, and I am more than happy to share all the resources we have created. You can see more information about the program at www.reddeer.ca/composting.
I have attached an abbreviated report on our first year's results. I am finalizing the second year report in the next couple weeks and hope to put together a package of our resources to share with other organizations.
Please don't hesitate to contact me by phone or email if you would like to discuss further (this offer is open to anyone) at 403-314-5894 or [email protected].

Anyone used mascots in idling interventions?
2013-11-05 11:27:49 UTC
We are working on a campaign to encourage people to reduce idling, and are considering using a mascot or character to help us deliver the idle free message when approaching idling motorists. The idea was that we could use a scientist/professor character who would be less threatening when approaching idling drivers, and entertaining to both adults and children.
Has anyone used a mascot or character in their idling interventions, and what response did you get? If anyone has a character that worked well, would you be willing to share it?
Warmly,
Lauren

Most likely to backyard compost?
2012-01-03 17:34:19 UTC
Our municipality is launching a campaign to get 300 new households composting this year. Does anyone have any information on who is the best target audience for this activity?

Re: Energy at Home

In Canada the federal government had a program called the ecoENERGY Retrofit, which sounds much like the program you are developing. Government approved energy advisors evaluated homes and made recommendations for changes, and when the changes were made and a follow up evaluation done the homeowners received partial reimbursement for the renovations. The program ended in 2010 but recently received more funding and should be revived later this year.
I don't know anyone who administers the program that would be able to give you results, but there is a contact page on the website: http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca/residential/personal/grants.cfm?attr=0
Good luck!

Re: Feedback on New Digest

It looks to me like I should be able to click on the topic in which I'm interested in the table of contents and it will take me right to that posting, but that's not happening for me. So I end up going through the whole digest again anyway. Am I doing something wrong?

Love it! It will be great to have a summary at the top of the page so I can see at a glance if there's anything I want to read more about.
