Re: Social Marketing to Business Employees
2012-05-04 09:59:10 UTC
Our organization--Cool Choices--partners with businesses to change behaviors via employee engagement programs. There's information on our website about our process as well as an evaluation report at http://www.coolchoicesnetwork.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/i-Choose-post-game-survey-report-Miron-2012-04-16-final.pdf.
We believe workplaces provide an excellent opportunity to influence change because there's a lot of social interaction AND infrastructures to leverage for communication (email, staff meetings, etc.).

On your second question...
Our Wisconsin nonprofit is currently developing a couple of cbsm pilots that will launch into research phases shortly. And I'm aware of some earlier efforts in WI - in the public health arena - that used a cbsm model to reduce drunk driving.
Also, the Energy Center of WI sponsored a cbsm workshop last fall and attendees included some folks from the Chicago area - so they might be able to offer you additional leads.
Best of luck -

Thanks! The Green Street tool is much more what I was looking for in terms of a tool - it provides a benchmark and then lets the user track their progress. It's the first tool I've seen that measures at the monthly level versus annual data. It seems like this might work better for people - as it provides more real time feedback.

Peter:
I'm looking for a similar tool. I think a spreadsheet is probably too clunky. I'd like to see a multi-platform app (think iPhone, Facebook, Droid) where you could set goals, report activities and essentially update your status. I've investigated the existing iPhone apps and haven't found anything yet that does all of this across your home, transport, etc.
If you find something please share it with us!
