The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Watershed Assistance Section is seeking a part-time Salt Reduction Coordinator to assist in the agencys efforts to reduce road salt application in the I-93 corridor.
This position is charged with working directly with agency partners, including DOT, the UNH Technology Transfer Center, corridor municipalities, private sector parking lot maintainers, and the driving public. The successful candidate must have familiarity with winter road and parking lot maintenance techniques, must have good rapport with winter road and parking lot maintainers, be comfortable conveying technical information in public settings, and be familiar with community-based social marketing techniques to address driver behavior in winter storms.
Minimum qualifications are a Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university with major study in biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, water resources management, or a related field. and six years' experience as an Environmentalist in the occupational area in which the vacancy exists, two years of which shall have involved supervisory duties as well as the preparation of various environmental documents or related research. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience. License/Certification: Eligibility for NH drivers license.
The successful candidate must satisfactorily pass a criminal background and motor vehicle check. The hourly pay for this position is $25.01. This position will work up to 29 hours per week. The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services seeks letters of interest from consultants qualified to perform social science research and to design behavior change programs addressing driver behavior in the southern I-93 corridor. This work is associated with chloride reduction efforts in four impaired watersheds; see http://www.rebuildingi93.com/content/environmental/waterquality for background on the chloride impairments. Social Science Research and Behavior Change Implementation Services (1 Contract) QUALIFICATIONS-BASED SELECTION CONTRACT

Scope of Work:
One (1) On-Call Agreement, with a maximum value of $200,000 over a 3-year term, is needed to provide social science research, develop a driver behavior change program, and associated social marketing services. These services may include: refining target audiences, identifying knowledge, attitude, and behavior change objectives and outcomes, identifying barriers to behavior change, designing outreach program messages, methods, and indicators of success, implementing pilot programs, implementing watershed-wide behavior change programs, evaluating results, and making presentations and reports to the I-93 Salt Reduction Work Group. Consultants submitting a Letter of Interest will be assessed on their capability to perform the above-mentioned services as well as their availability to respond rapidly to on-call assignments. Task Orders assigned under these Agreements will be negotiated as a modified cost plus fixed fee or lump-sum method of compensation.
