Re: Barriers & Benefits of Commercial Energy Efficiency Improvements

Here in Cincinnati, Messer Construction has achieved LEED for Existing Buildings and did it by optimizing lighting and HVAC performance. They paid for their USGBC Certification in 15 months with $3000 per month savings. Get in touch with me via [email protected] if you would like to get in touch with Kurt Bouley, the person in charge of the project. Thanks for asking.

I've studied global warming and ozone depletion potential through my LEED AP classes and it goes over the general public's head. I'm looking for common sense arguments to use. Recently took the training to be a Cincinnati Zoo Educator at their Go Green Garden. I'm hoping to learn how to engage the general public this season. I'll share my findings with this group. Thanks for asking.

That's a very interesting observation. The young are our consumers. The elderly don't consume much. It's best not to deal with global warming potential. Thanks.

Re: Waste Minimisation Social Marketing Research
2010-09-19 10:26:49 UTC
We had another meeting regarding the Cincinnati Social Peer Group Marketing and an idea was floated to use Google Maps as the neighborhood peer group pressure. Does anyone have experience using Google Maps along with Facebook to create neighborhood peer group pressure? We may be able to post the dumping of our recycling bins on Google maps because they have radio transmitters attached to each bin. We're worried about disclosing private information so we may only be able to display bin use by zip code. Similar to the census data. Any reply would be appreciated.

A few of us here in Cincinnati, OH are advocating to use community-base social marketing to improve our recycling program. I'll follow up on this blog thread and would like to keep you informed/share documents. Thanks.
