Re: Webinar on CBSM Program Impact Measurement and Evaluation, Friday March 9
2012-02-16 21:22:02 UTC
This webinar sounds extremely interesting and there are a couple of us here in Alice Springs, Australia very interested in participating.
Working out the time difference means the workshop would be occurring at 2am - 3.30am on the Saturday morning. Is there any way to get another webinar on this subject to occur at a time that an Australian audience could take part?
We could potentially drum up some more interest.
I am part of a project aiming to reduce the towns water use by 15% over a year project and my role is community engagement and change campaign coordination for the homes and businesses project. As you might expect - monitoring and evaluating a change in so many behaviours across a whole town is quite challenging.

Community Water Rules
2011-08-30 04:08:24 UTC
Hi all,
I believe social marketing is intrinsically empowering for people. It gives people responsibility for themselves, which can then be taken out to the broader community and beyond. Many people have behaviour they wish they could change, being affected by these strategies can be a form of life coaching. Behaviour change strategies have a lot to offer, but that said, it is not the whole answer. I am very lucky to be working on a new program where we have an alliance of organisations delivering a water conservation program to Alice Springs residents where we are offering consultations, rebates for better designs and a change campaign for the community.
I am intersted in any studies regarding behaviour change strategies for water conservation. One of our aims is the development of 'Community Water Rules,' which would outlive our program and involve empowering community participation.
If anyone has any studies on a program like this, please share.
Thank you for the resources which were shared above.
Best,
Neylan

Re: CBSM in Military Hierarchy
2011-08-23 19:54:22 UTC
Hi all,
Another good group to contact could be the Alice Solar Cities program who have worked with the US military here in Australia. Pine Gap workers and their families makes up nearly 7% of the Alice Springs population, and part of my job will be to approach Pine Gap workers to reduce water use. Thanks for the resource above, and any other tips are welcome.
Regards,
Neylan
