Re: Looking for Low Flow Showerhead Research and Successful Programs
2016-04-11 12:06:28 UTC
At Fort Collins Utilities we have had success installing low flow shower heads through a direct install program in partnership with the county. Through the program we install, for free, aerators, showerheads, CFL and LED's, clotheslines, shower timers, tank banks, CO2 detectors, high efficiency toilets and programmable thermostats. Each year we are able to install 300-500 showerheads. Reach out to discuss more.

Re: Social Return on Investment or Outcomes for programs
2014-08-04 15:13:47 UTC
Thanks for broaching this subject, Kayley. We have been very interested in this as well.
We have created a social responsibility program that aggregates the inputs and outputs of participating businesses and would like to take the next step of measuring outcomes and impacts, and ultimately monetizing this as SROI.
I can't directly answered your question, but this document has been helpful in conceptualizing SROI and has a case study on how it may be done: http://sroi.london.edu/Measuring-Social-Impact.pdf.
I second this call for best practices.

Re: Seeking Ideas for a GHG Reduction Program
2014-03-13 15:20:12 UTC
Lori- I coordinate a GHG reduction program out of Fort Collins Colorado (~150,000 people) called ClimateWise. This is a commercially focused program, and with businesses of all sizes on board, we are able to report out some substantial reductions. We focus on behavior change through active engagement with technical assistance, personalized resources, education, networking and recognition opportunities. See our webpage to learn more: www.fcgov.com/climatewise . If you want to have a conversation about the ins and outs of making such a program work (an internal management perspective), feel free to email or call: [email protected] 970-221-6847. It's not unusual for other orgs to pick our brains on this now mature program- over the last 11 years our partners have conserved ten billion gallons of water, over 1 million CO2e, and nearly $73 million in energy, waste and water costs.
