Re: Bear Safe Neighborhoods
2016-03-11 17:25:05 UTC
Vancouver's three North Shore municipalities (the District of West Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver and the City of North Vancouver) grapple with black bear and resident interactions and have actively promoted bear awareness. See, for example http://westvancouver.ca/home-building-property/pets-wildlife-environment/bears and http://northshorebears.com/proofing

Once through (Single Pass) System Restrictions
2015-12-30 14:20:10 UTC
Hello, and I hope you had a great Christmas holiday.
If your jurisdiction restricts or prohibits once through (single pass) systems that use potable water, could you please point me to your applicable local law, ordinance, or code for the language used?
Thank you, and all the best in 2016!
Sincerely, Chris

Cooling Towers and Water Efficiency
2015-12-10 10:42:29 UTC
Hello,
Does your municipality / utility have a water efficiency program targeting cooling towers? If you would be willing to share your experience we would be very appreciative.
There are several hundred cooling towers in the City of Vancouver, accounting for roughly 3% (estimated range: 1-7%) of the City's annual water demand. Denver Water has already generously shared information about their "Cooling Tower Performance Rebate Program" and we'd like to learn from others about their programs.
Thank you. Please don't hesitate to call me if it's easier for you to discuss this over the phone.

High Water Consuming Residences: Correspondence Ideas to Drive down Demand?
2015-11-30 11:06:16 UTC
Hello,
We have a handful of metered, residential properties that have considerably larger than average daily water demand.
Would you be willing to share targeted correspondence that your utility / municipality has used to successfully encourage water efficiency?
Thank you.
