Question: How do I get census information?
Answer: You can spend hours and hours on the census website (Census.gov). No time for that but here is an example of the type of census information you can get at the block level (smaller area than zip code):

Q: To clarify, you are saying you cannot run your pilot with the people you did barriers/benefits with, right? Once you do your pilot and have identified successful strategies (and left out the original group), you could include those original barriers/benefits people in your full program, right? They wouldn't be representative of the general audience, but they could still benefit from the program when scaled.
A: Correct, do not include your research group in the pilot, but do roll out to them once you have completed the pilot. -

Comment: Not sure of the specific political spectrum in your community, You might want to check out Katharine Hayhoe's research. It might give you ideas. She focuses on climate communication with religiously and politically conservative groups in the US.
