All the ideas offered on the website are litter-free. Another web site focuses on weddings, as our research showed that the #1 "Happy" event during which balloons are released are weddings: https://www.joyfulsendoff.org/

  Several partners used CBSM as we did research on WHO releases balloons, WHY they do it, and what alternatives would be acceptable, affordable and available. Partners include Clean Virginia Waterways of Longwood University, the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council on the Ocean (MARCO) and several government and NGOs in New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
