As an educator, my experiences have informed me that to have any chance of realizing sustainable development we need to break down the silos that we live in. Our lack of holistic vision ironically results in a lack of sustainability. In much of my career I have tried to break these down whether they are the silos of biodiversity conservation, poverty alleviation, sustainable energy policy, community forestry, fair trade or green infrastructure in order to achieve a greater impact.
