My background is in architecture, landscape, and urban design, with over 14 years of experience in practice and university teaching. I have a particular interest supported by practical experience in designing and planning sustainable landscapes. My research focus on participatory planning and socio-ecological complex systems, i.e. Adaptive co-management of nature-based solutions within urban contexts. My PhD research combines established decision-making sociological theories and urban simulation modeling through qualitative/quantitative mixed methods to develop an empirical agent-based model (ABM). The model simulates the diffusion of Green Infrastructure adoption on private residential yards in Kitchener/Waterloo, ON.
