I am spearheading my local Rotary Club's Trash Talk Taskforce's exploration of developing a reusable beverage cup program for small town that does not currently have a dishwashing infrastructure. We interested in working with our local coffee and beverage retailers to create an easy reusable cup program, and influence behavior changes among customers, owners, and baristas. We also hope to create an affordable dishwashing and logistics system that will make it easier for a reusable cup program to succeed, provide a sustainable business opportunity to a new or existing commercial kitchen, and promote the switch from single-use to reusable drinking cups in a small community.
