I conduct social science research at the Wildlife Conservation Society's (WCS) four zoos and aquarium in New York City. We are interested in how WCS can support New Yorkers to be more sustainable.
Hi Anya, the True/False statements we used were based on our findings from a barriers and benefits analysis that we did we with people who live locally in New York. Sharing what we used in the attached file, but I'd be remiss to not recommend finding out the barriers and benefits of planting native plants for folks in and around Eugene.

Thanks so much Julie, this article also showed up when I searched.
Using Games for Educational Messaging

Hi everyone, I have a question about games. I know hat zoos, aquariums, nature centers, etc. will often use games to teach about conservation, ecology, wildlife etc. What I'm wondering is if we have a sense of how many games have been created that specifically use CBSM strategies embedded in them for messaging purposes? For example this past summer we created a game that used at the Queens Zoo in Queens, NY that was a true-false game, cleverly called "Be-leaf it or Not". Each true/false statement was designed to either uplift a benefit of planting native plants or to dispel a barrier to planting native plants. Has anyone else done something like this? Thanks for letting me know, it may be worth a peer-review publication?

Thank you Julie and thank you Doug, and yes, we've collected data about probability, penetration, and applicability.
Behavior Selection - Finding Experts to Weigh In

Hello everyone, I am wondering how you have gone about finding experts who can weigh in on the impact of a range of conservation behaviors? The reason we have a wide variety of types of actions is because we solicited the opinions of a few different target audiences. So for example our behaviors that we would like to determine impact for include (but is not limited to): creating wildlife habitat by planting native plants (at/near your home), enrolling with a clean energy provider for electricity, and reduce plastic consumption by purchasing products in alternative packaging. We've preliminarily used Project Drawdown's Table of Solutions but many actions do not have an exact match. Or do you know of any other websites that have a similar feature to Project Drawdown's Table of Solutions? Thank you for your help!
